Our first sacral wooden design was custom made for the Church of Our Lady of the Sea in Banjole. The stunning olive wood seat in the presbytery is laid on a stone bench with two 3 meters long pieces from the same material on the left and right side of the wall.

This massive cross is made from a single piece of olive wood 1,5 meters high and set in the old chappel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Labin. This small chappel from the beginning of the 17th century is now Gallery Alvona. Cross without corpus is attached to the wall with metal balls, same principle we practice for mirrors.

In the last few years we had the opportunity to create sacral wooden design for Fazana’s churches.

We made a candle carrier for the needs of the Church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian in Fazana. Stable heavy metal construction with glass surfaces for candles. Even though it’s heavy, it is mobile and can be moved around the space depending on the needs.

In 2016 we also designed chair and benches for the presbytery. This time from European oak. Often used in carpentry, this wood is very solid and it’s pale color is the perfect base to accentuate the dark colored details. Favorite Mediterranean oak was used for chair legs, armrests and details such as crosses.

We are proud that our sacral wooden design makes part of Istria’s sacral heritage. Wooden sacral motifs with sanisio design you can also have in your home.

We design smaller religious details such as Advent candle holders and crosses of various sizes. They can be hung on the wall and be without or with corpus. The corpus is always in stylized form, without the elements of anatomy.

We mainly use olive but other sorts can be found too, especially black oak. Check the gallery and our webshop.
