Did you know that in your house you should always have a bowl full of fruits?

And it’s not just good for your health. According to the philosophy of Feng Shui, specific fruits are symbols of longevity, wealth, prosperity, etc. Fruit can be bought everywhere, but bowls that will conquer your heart only at sanisio.

The beginning of our story was in sculptures (almost 30 years ago), and although today we are manufacturing different usable-decorative items of more acceptable price, we never gave or will give up on our artistic expression.

Wooden bowls were the most logical sequence. And some of them truly look like sculptures.

At all times in the workshop there are at least 2-3 bowls that are being sculpted or worked on. Unless they are combined from more wood sorts (latest design!) they are made from only 1 piece of wood. The large ones too!

But good quality wood is hard to find. Even more when it comes to olive. The material needs to be old and healthy. And with olive you never know what you are getting.

With wooden sorts such as apricot, black oak or walnut it is much easier to achieve any design wanted.

But when it comes to unique handmade wooden bowls, olive wood is even more unique. It doesn’t always allow designing, often we follow the natural shape and form of wood. The same goes for intentionally left cracks – they faithfully present this symbol of Mediterranean.

To secure the production and uniqueness, each and every sanisio bowl on the bottom has the SM DESIGN branded iron stamp.

Note: upon request, we can lacquer the surface with waterproof glossy or matte varnish.
