Wood sanding & polishing
And the final step in woodworking process – wood sanding. A lot of it!
It is done in several stages. Here at sanisio we use basic tools but hands are our most important tool.
Truth is, nothing can replace the natural tactility of human touch.
Wood sanding is done in several stages. We do it first with rough and then all the way to superfine abrasive paper.
It is a repetitive action so it’s important to be patient. Between each of this phases all surfaces are refined by manual sanding.

And that is why it is our most important tool.
At some point the time has come to heat the branded iron stamp and apply it, usually on the bottom of the product.

For the final wood sanding we use the finest sandpaper after which we remove the dust. Thoroughly with a brush, from all the surfaces.
The surface is now ready for polishing.

We apply the wax by rubbing it into the wood in few layers. Last thing, final polishing with felt cloth until all the surfaces reach matte shine.
The wax we use is made from natural ingredients and isn’t toxic. It is our favorite! Makes you feel all the sensibility and warmth of the wood.
After all this repetitive action of wood sanding and polishing the item is finally ready to be exposed in our shop and put on the market.
